Woodland Learning
Woodland Learning
At The Chalet School we have a wonderful school woodland garden. It is entirely fenced so the children have the chance to be free to explore, play and connect with nature. This helps them to build confidence and to understand their environment. All activities in the woodland garden are related to a greater understanding of the wider world. We have a dedicated outdoor learning teacher to work with the children each week.
Our outside learning provision is centred on the individual child enjoying their outdoor experience to the full. It is quality edutainment and has strong links to the national curriculum subjects.
The work in the woodland and garden that all children do, helps to develop:
- Self confidence
- Communication and Social skills
- Teamwork
- Problem Solving
- Independence
- Gross and Fine Motor Skills
- Resilience
- Awareness of the Natural World
- Empathy
- Well Rounded Individuals
